Breaking the law
I’d like to respond to the editorial by the St. Louis Post Dispatch about how Gov. Mike Parsons should do something. What is he to do? According to a study published by the Washington Post and Miami Herald, 80 percent of gun crimes are committed by people who do not legally possess the gun. So he is expected to penalize legal gun owners for this? Because if you’re getting your gun illegally, you really don’t care about other laws, do you?
In response to “Founders,” the caller who is offended that our Founding Fathers put down on a piece of paper that all men are created equal yet they were slave owners themselves: Well, we fixed that problem. I’m more concerned that our Founding Fathers put down that all “men” are created equal to keep women out of the equation.
I don’t care how much President Donald Trump plays golf. It keeps him out of the government.
I wish the Buchanan County Commissioners would answer this question: How can 600-foot industrial wind turbines promote the health, safety and welfare of the citizens within Buchanan County?
Again, we have a president going off the rails. The narcissist president who wishes to be a dictator does not and will not listen to any of his advisers. It’s a shame that the Republican Party is continuing to allow Trump to downgrade America and make us a very vulnerable country to the other powerhouse countries of the world. If by chance he were to win a re-election, who would want to work for him?
Why is it OK for a man to paint his face to mock women, but it’s not OK when somebody does blackface? Why is it OK to parody women by making yourself up to look like one, but it’s not OK to parody black people when you make up your face to look like one? The height of hypocrisy.
I was very impressed that the St. Joseph Police Department had the integrity to arrest one of their own for domestic violence. So many police departments in the country seem to cover it up and let fellow officers get away with that kind of behavior, and I’m just glad to know it’s not going on here. I hope people remember that when they’re criticizing the police.
