I read about Democrats not giving President Donald Trump any respect for killing the ISIS leader, but we gave all the credit to former President Barack Obama (when Osama bin Laden was killed). The Republicans said Obama didn’t have anything to do with it; the military did. We feel the same way about the ISIS leader. Well, I’m a liberal, but I could care less what party is in office when these two (terrorists) got shot. We’re glad to be rid of them.
I’m calling about the dogfighting editorial. You don’t see the hypocrisy in this editorial? In a society that eats pigs, cows and chickens? Lewis and Clark ate dogs.
Editor’s note: We’re also against pigs, cows and chickens fighting for sport.
King of debt
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has anointed Mr. Trump as an imperial president by saying he will not bring anything to the floor for a vote in the Senate unless the president agrees to sign it. If re-elected, the national debt — at $22 trillion now and increasing at $1 trillion a year for the next nine years — we will face national bankruptcy.
Road to nowhere
I’m making a comment about the county CIP tax we’re going to vote on. Why should we give them more money? They already built an exit to nowhere off U.S. Highway 36 to the tune of $5 million. Totally irresponsible. Then they pave the road for private people off of that exit. It’s all a special interest group that they’re supporting.
They said it
I saw something really good on the Weather Channel last night. It said if there’s going to be ice and snow, you can put a pair of socks on your windshield wipers so they don’t get iced up. And you can put bags on your rearview mirrors to keep them clean, and you can coat your windshield with either a raw potato or a slice of onion. Isn’t that amazing? Since they said it, it’s got to be right.
Far and wide
It’s ridiculous for Sen. Josh Hawley to say the impeachment inquiry has strayed from standards. No president has ever strayed from standards more than Trump. He ignores subpoenas; he enriches himself with his position; he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin, not our own government.
Sadly, the News-Press is chastising the Democrats for their investigative committee requirements. Those are the same ones that the Republican Congress, under John Boehner, adopted during the investigation of Benghazi.
