I’m calling about the Thanksgiving Day shopping spree. Black Friday not enough for some people? We have a whole month to Christmas shop. How sad we have ruined the day set aside for Thanksgiving. Now people are stressed because we can’t get one-day delivery.
I’d like to say I’m thankful for all the merchants that closed on Thanksgiving so their employees could be home with their families. I think it’s the right thing to do, and it really doesn’t bother anybody.
Eve of destruction
Well, everybody who voted for Trump, I hope you’re happy. He’s dragging us down to the lowest level we’ll ever be in our lifetime. … He’s leading us down the path of destruction.
According to the school district, they want to build a new school. Where do they think that St. Joseph has $186 million? We don’t have that many people in St. Joe to come up with that kind of money. Just redo the other three high schools and leave it alone.
As someone who went to a small high school, I can tell you that it’s just as easy to be disconnected and bullied as someone that attends a bigger school. Kids will face many of the same issue and challenges, regardless of the class size and the modern features. In addition, I’m not sure if playing for sports teams should be the driving force behind the decisions that we make on the future of our high schools.
The city did a good job passing an ordinance banning the encampments here in town. Now they need to pass an ordinance doing away with peddling on our street corners. Especially the one that says, “homeless vet.” How do we know?
Figure it out
I would love to see a study done on property tax rate versus vacant and abandoned property in St. Joseph. Maybe that would be better than a demographer telling us where our school boundary line should be, which somebody should be able to figure out without spending more money than we already do.
