Thank you to the mayor for addressing the homeless sleeping on the streets and under the bridges situation. … I do not consider myself a heartless person. I am, in fact, a very caring person but I do not care to travel the streets of St. Joseph seeing people sleeping and living on or near our roads. Also, it looks terrible for all the folks traveling into our city to visit, shop and eat to see people begging at every entrance into our city.
Red means stop
When is the St. Joseph Police Department going to get out of their building down there and get back on the streets and stop these people from running red lights, causing accidents?
Can’t afford it
According to local media, our kids are asking school board members, “Why don’t we have schools like they have in Liberty and Parkville high schools?” The people in St. Joe don’t make the money those people make down there. We can’t afford those kinds of schools.
The Kansas City Chiefs had a terrible defense all season long. No pass defense, no defensive line. The fans deserve better.
I see the school board estimates the new high schools will cost $190 million. I don’t know where they think they’re going to get that money, because taxpayers in St. Joe will not stand for it. It seems to me you could spend a fraction of that and have three very fine high schools.
The school board seems to want to compare us to districts down south around Kansas City, how much better their schools are and how much money we’re not spending for schools. Take the average family income. It’s about one-third to a half more down south than it is here. We just can’t afford it.
In reply to “Stand up to evil”: Sir or ma’am, President Donald Trump said there are fine people on both sides of the rallies at Charlottesville.
Do not let the liberals take over St. Joseph. They are now proposing free housing for homeless people. This will be like feeding stray cats — you won’t be able to get rid of them.
