They won't negotiate

It really gets me all these people calling in and saying it's the Democrats' fault the government shut down. The Republicans hold the White House and Congress. They're in charge of that. They won't talk. They aren't even in Washington. They haven't been there for a month. How are they going to settle this if they're not there?

Can't have it both ways

Some people are suggesting the school district should reduce the number of administrators. These are some of the same people that are opposed to closing any school buildings. Don't they realize that the number of administrators is proportional to the number of buildings? You can't have it both ways. You can't cut administrators and keep buildings open.

Just wait and see

Trump is waiting on the election tomorrow. If the Democrats win, he'll talk. If the Republicans win, he won't. Wait and see.

The nuclear option

I think President Trump is making a big mistake and wanting the Republicans to use a nuclear option to get the government opened up again. But the nuclear option would mean that just a simple majority, 51 votes, would rule. He wants to end the filibuster. There's an old saying, he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. And at some point in time, the Democrats will get back in office. And they will use that nuclear option, a simple majority of 51 votes, to completely dismantle whatever is left of our government.
