MARSHALL, Mo. - Carole Welborn, 77, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at her home.

Born Nov. 20, 1942, in St. Joseph, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Cook and Genevieve "Jenny" Klawuhn Cook.

Carole had lived in Marshall the last 15 years, moving from Kansas City.

She retired from the United States Corps of Engineers, where she worked for over 30 years.

Following her retirement, she did temp work as a data entry processor for various industries.

Carole was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church and its Quilters Guild, as well as working in the church library.

Survivors include: one son, Michael Welborn (Kim), of Marshall; two granddaughters, Kaeleigh Mallady (Ryan) and Cheyenne Palmer (Andy); two great-grandchildren, Henley and Easton; one sister, Phyllis Slahorek, of St. Joseph; two brothers, Dwayne Cook (Barbara), of Amazonia, and Rusty Cook (Tanya), of St. Joseph; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Colleen Swanson and Mary Ann Thompson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Gill Memorial Baptist Church, in Marshall, with Rev. David Slusher officiating.

No visitation will be held.
