CLARKSDALE, Mo. - Verda E. McManus, 102, passed away January 14, 2013.

Verda was born January 4, 1912 to Oscar and Emma Fisher Buhman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Melvin, Vincent, Kenneth and Rev. Leo.

She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

On November 19, 1935, she and Clarence McManus were married. They farmed near Clarksdale all their lives. He passed away February 27, 2000.

She is survived by son, Andrew (Glenda); grandson, Thomas; and a great-granddaughter, Ali, all of Clarksdale; two sisters, Irmalee Schieber of Maryville, Mo.; Rita McQuinn of Stanberry, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Amelia Buhman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six brothers, John (Nellie), Harold (Lue), Ermit, Earl (Bernetta), James (Carol), all of St. Joseph; and Gilbert of Stanberry; many loving nieces and nephews; many friends, and special friends, Rose Ann, Kathy and Three Rivers Hospice, Cameron, Mo.

The family will receive friends after noon Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

Rosary at 5 p.m. Thursday, at the Chapel with visitation to follow.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, at Seven Dolors Church (Hurlinger).

The body will arrive at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery or Three Rivers Hospice, Cameron.
