Ronald G. Thompson
ALVIN, Texas - Ronald Gene Thompson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at his home, in Alvin, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born in Gallatin, Missouri, but grew up in St. Joseph.
Ronnie was a great father, brother, grandfather.
He loved his family very much, especially his two daughters, Veronica and Vanessa, and his grandkids.
Ronnie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving overseas in Germany and stationed Fort Dix.
Ronnie work very hard to create opportunities for his family, and loved old cars, trucks and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Ronnie was preceded in death by: his mother, Betty Taylor; stepfather, Norman Taylor; father, Robert Thompson; and sister, Francis Thompson.
He will always be loved by his daughters: Veronica Hickman, of Dickinson, Texas, and Vanessa Thompson, of League City, Texas; sisters, Judy Griffin, Tina Saliger, Laveta Despain, of St. Joseph, and Mona Dizney, of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers, David Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Mike Thompson, Joe Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Richard Thompson, Gary Thompson, of St. Joseph, and Randy Thompson Austin, Texas.
Ronnie's wishes were to be cremated.
The family will have a celebration of life, with military honors, at a later date when all the family can be together.
