OREGON, Mo. - Anita C. Kurtz, 88, of Oregon, passed away Oct. 3, 2019, at a St. Joseph hospital.
She was born near Oregon, on Dec. 28, 1930.
Anita graduated from Oregon High School. She then received a bachelor of arts in music education, from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College, in Maryville, Missouri and later received her master's degree, from the UMKC Music Conservatory.
She married Wayne Kurtz, in 1952.
Anita taught in Kansas City, and retired from South Holt after many years of teaching music and third grade.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Lawrence and Alberta (Noellsch) Fink; and son-in-law, Mike Schellhorn.
Survivors include: her husband, Wayne; children, Denise (Bob) Bechdoldt and Bradley (Jodie) Kurtz, all of Oregon; siblings, Rodney (Bertha) Fink, Macomb, Illinois, and Byron (Dana) Fink, Oregon; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Monday, 10:30 a.m., Oregon United Methodist Church.
Family visitation: Sunday, 5 to 7 p.m., Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon.
Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials: Oregon United Methodist Church Building Fund.
