MOUND CITY, Mo. - Jay Jasper, 87, passed away July 10, 2019, at a Maryville nursing home.
He was born in Barnard, Missouri, on April 15, 1932, to Lloyd C. and Clarelena (Carson) Jasper, and graduated from Maitland, Missouri High School.
On May 16, 1953, he married Shirley Ann Rockhold in Norborne, Missouri. Jay then served in the U.S. Army for two years, from 1953 to 1955.
Jay worked for 30 years for the Michigan/Wisconsin Pipeline. He also farmed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; his brother, Bobby Dean Jasper, cousin Kay's son, Layne Vest.
Jay is survived by: his cousin, Kay Gilland and her husband Fred, of Mound City; and nieces and nephews.
Jay was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Mound City.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2019, Holy Trinity Church, Mound City.
The family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m.
Interment: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Lutheran North Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund.
