Cleo "Toby" F. Hoffelmeyer, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away Oct. 15, 2019.
Toby was born on Nov. 5, 1923, in Andrew County to the late Frank and Lula (Vetter) Hoffelmeyer.
He graduated from Lafayette High School and served in the United States Army.
He married Wilhelmina Hanway on May 19, 1962 in St. Joseph. Together, they farmed and were second generation owners of Hoffelmeyer Orchards. Toby loved two kinds of pie, "hot and cold."
In addition to his parents, Toby is preceded in death by four siblings, Florence Ramseier, Alline Meyer, Chester Hoffelmeyer, Russell Hoffelmeyer and their spouses.
Survivors: wife, Wilhelmina Hoffelmeyer; children, Tina Grieves (Jim), Cleo LeRoy Hoffelmeyer (Koreen), and Janet McKnight (Richard); grandchildren, Kris Grieves, Tristan Grieves, Brandon McKnight and Joshua McKnight; step-grandchild, Lacie Suddarth; step-great-grandchild, Marshall Suddarth, several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial: 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Joseph.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Parish Rosary 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 7 p.m. Thursday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
