PLATTSBURG, Mo. - M. Charlene Welsh Gipson, 85, of Plattsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at her residence.

Born on April 17, 1934, in Paradise, Missouri, to Charles E. and Allena E. (Pierson) Welsh.

Charlene was a graduate of Plattsburg High School, class of 1952.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Plattsburg, where she served as Church Treasurer.

She retired as a Clinton County, Missouri deputy sheriff, after many years of service.

Charlene loved her family and attended many, if not all, of their sporting events.

Some of the things she loved to do was reading, playing cards, sewing, gardening, cooking, shopping and quilting.

On Dec. 23,1951, she married Arthur Lee Gipson, who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2016.

She was also preceded in death by: her parents; son, Arthur Welsh Gipson; grandson, Jared Gudde; great-granddaughter, Addison Gudde; and two brothers.

Survivors: her daughter, Beth (Benton) Gudde, of Plattsburg; son, David Gipson, of Plattsburg; grandsons, Caleb (Jayme) Gudde, of Plattsburg, Aaron (Megan) Gudde, of Gower, Brock (Evan) Gipson, of Plattsburg, and Jake Gipson, of Plattsburg; her great-grandchildren, Keegan, Mollie, Kemper, Remington, Emerson, Gipson, Macklynn and Baker.

Healing farewell services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 11, 2019, at the First Baptist church, of Plattsburg.

Interment will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Plattsburg.

The Family will gather with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at the church.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the church.
