Gary Lee Bachman, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in a St. Joseph hospital.
He was born March 7, 1944 in Wilmerding, Pa., son of Pearl and William Bachman.
He graduated from Granite High School, Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended two years of college.
He married Kelly on December 8, 1984 in Santa Maria, Calif.
He served in the Army during the Viet Nam era.
Gary was a project manager with Lowe’s Home Improvement Company at the Corporate Office, in North Carolina.
He enjoyed traveling, biking, swimming, floating, the shooting range, collecting western novels, he was loving father and husband, and devoted convert to Catholism, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife, Kelly Bachman of the home; three sons, Joshua Bachman and wife Lindsey of St. Joseph; John W. Bachman and wife Deb; Mark A. Bachman and wife Monica; a daughter, Traci Lee Ferini and husband Larry, all of Santa Maria; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, William "Bill" D. Bachman of Kingwood, Texas; and George Bachman of Salt Lake City.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the St. James Catholic Church, Fr. Joseph Totton Celebrant.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 5:30 p.m.
The interment will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery, at the Seven Dolors Church.
