GLADSTONE, Mo. John R. Buhman, 106, who lived with his granddaughter in Gladstone, and formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on August 31, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born August 2, 1910, in Clarksdale, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Nellie (Miller) Buhman; his daughter, Sue Ann Reynolds, Humble, Texas; his parents, Oscar and Emma Buhman; six brothers, Melvin, Kenny, Vincent, Fr. Leo, Ermit and Harold; one sister, Verda McManus; and two infant children.

John was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in St. Joseph and St. Patricks Catholic Church, in Kansas City. John was a lifetime member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 571. John retired from the St. Joseph Power and Light Company.

Survivors include: Jean Trapp, Gladstone, John J. (Karen) Buhman, St. Joseph, Rosie Forsman, Kansas City; son-in-law, Steve Reynolds, Humble; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9-10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Parish Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the services.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Entombment: Mount Olivet Mausoleum. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
