David DeWayne Brown

1939 - 2019

STANBERRY, Mo. - David DeWayne Brown, 79, Stanberry, passed away Nov. 9, 2019, at a St. Joseph, hospital.

David was born Dec. 1, 1939, the son of Jim Alva and Wilma Jean (Motzkus) Brown. They preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by: two sisters, Mavayn and Wanda Fern Brown; two brothers, John Dale and Don Warren Brown and a nephew, Ryan Brown.

David was a laborer for the Opportunity Workshop in Stanberry. He was a member of the Island City Christian Church. He enjoyed mowing the lawn, working puzzles, and collecting and recycling aluminum cans.

Survivors include: five brothers, Alva Brown, Richard Brown and Billy Brown all of Stanberry, Mervin Brown, Independence, Missouri, and James Brown, Savannah, Missouri; three sisters, Ellen Brown and Nina (Mark) Brown both of Stanberry, Karen (Terry) Reed, Paintsville, KY and Marilyn Brown, King City, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry.

Burial will follow in the Lafayette Cemetery, Island City, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
