SARASOTA, Fla. - Catherine Balettie lived a life full of family, good cooking and countless great memories.
A first generation Italian-American family of six siblings, born in Heavener, Oklahoma, on Dec. 24, 1922.
She departed 96 years later, in Sarasota, on June 15, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine lived in St. Joseph for 53 years, with her husband, Natala, who preceded her in death.
Catherine was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis Xavier parish.
Love for children, and family were always at the forefront of her mind and heart.
She is survived by: two sisters, Natalie and Lisa; her four children, sons: Mario (Cathy) and Eugene "Gene" Balettie (Suzanne), and daughters: Valerie Wilson (Ted) and Lisa Power (Martin).
Her greatest blessings are nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosary and visitation: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2618 Seneca, St. Joseph.
Memorial Mass: will be said at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at the church, with a brunch following at Barbosa's East.
