ALBANY, Mo. - Carolyn J. Stevens, the daughter of Ross H. and Gerthel (Newman) Carlock, was born April 26, 1935 in Gentry County, Mo., and passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Northwest Medical Center in Albany, at the age of 78.
On November 21, 1953, Carolyn was united in marriage to Bobby Dale Stevens. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by her father; brothers, Lowell and Gerald Carlock; and her sister, Beth Clair.
Carolyn was a retired Gentry County Clerk and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Albany Church of Christ.
Carolyn was an avid bowler, gardener, enjoyed sports and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors: sons, David (Laura) Stevens and Donnie (Nancy) Stevens, both of Albany; daughters, Debbie (Brad) Cleeton, Fairborn, Ohio; Diana (Steve) Whitley, Lewisville, Texas; mother, Gerthel Carlock, Albany; two grandsons, Kirby and Kenton Stevens; five granddaughters, Erin (David) Nelson, Holly (T.J.) Jackson, Rachel (Kevin) Jermain, Whitney Cleeton and Karlie Stevens; four great-grandchildren, Chloe Jackson, Mia Jackson, Ty Jackson and Eve Nelson; step-granddaughter, Tracey (Tim) Monjure; step-great-grandson, Tyler Monjure; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service: 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, with burial in the Grandview Cemetery in Albany.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
