SAVANNAH, Mo. - Andre Dean "Dre" Lance, 17, Savannah, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014, near Savannah.

Andre was born in Russia on February 27, 1997 and was adopted January 15, 1999 by Paige Lance.

He was a student at Savannah High School and served as the Savannah Savage mascot at sports events. Andre was also very active in Young Life and was interested in broadcasting and journalism, which he had planned to pursue after high school. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Missouri Western Griffons. Andre was a member of the First Christian Church in Savannah, the church youth group and a member of Natural Helpers. He enjoyed deer hunting.

Andre was preceded in death by great-aunts and uncles, Helen Christine Lance, Fred Garton, Cameron and Christine Lance; and great-grandparents, Otis and Mabel Lance; and Herbert and Neola Garton.

Survivors include his mother, Paige Lance; sister, Allie Lance; grandparents, Caryl and Betty Lance; God-parents, Ralph and Lisa Schank; God-sister, Jacey Schank; great-aunts and uncles, Donna Lance, Nancy Garton, Richard and Barbara Garton, Jerry and Susan Bauman and their families; Andre's furry friend, Kalvin; and numerous friends and extended family.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, at First Christian Church, Savannah.

Interment: Bennett Lane Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Savannah, where the family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Memorial contributions may be made to Young Life.
