Scott III, Charles C. 1934-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Charles Calvin Scott III, MD died Dec. 20, 2025, in his sleep of natural causes at 91 years old. He was born July 9, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri.
He graduated from University of Kansas Medical School in 1960. Medicine was how he made his living, but Charlie’s true loves were Olympic Weightlifting, physical fitness, alongside his love of performing. He produced and starred in his own live television show “Mind Probe” for 500 straight weeks. Charlie was a true gentleman with an intense mind. A kind generous loving man.
He is survived by his five children, Valerie, Matthew, David, Larry, and Patrick, and two grandchildren, Marni and McCartney.
Charles is also survived by his wife, (Alea) Jane (Wessling) Scott. They married Sept. 17, 2000. He is proudly survived by Alea’s five children, Greg, Julie, Janie, Sarah, August, and their spouses. He and Alea have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Charles was cremated on Dec. 24, 2025. He will be celebrated at the 2nd Doctor Charles Scott Open Weightlifting Meet on Feb. 21, 2026, at the Wesley Center, in St Joseph. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
