Pritchett, Marilyn 1942-2025 Lexington, Mo.

LEXINGTON, Mo. – Marilyn Pritchett, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at Center Point Hospital, in Independence, Missouri, following a brief illness. Marilyn was born on Oct. 3, 1942, in St. Joseph, to Joseph and Marie Cohrs.
She would grow up just outside of St. Joseph with her brother Raymond and sister Joann where her love for animals would blossom. She would later meet Donald Pritchett of St. Joseph and at 18 years old the two would marry on Nov. 26, 1960. The couple would have three children, two daughters, Donna and Kathy, and a son, Robert. Marilyn would spend the next 30 years working for Whitaker Cable, Sherwood Medical, and finally Stetson Hat. Marilyn was married to Donald for 45 years until his passing in 2005. She would remain at her home in St. Joseph until 2020 when she entered Riverbend Heights nursing home, in Lexington, Missouri.
Among the many things Marilyn enjoyed in her life was the love of animals but most of all horses. She also loved motorcycles and would ride either any time she had the opportunity. She also enjoyed wholesome, family-oriented entertainment such as Little House on the Prairie, It’s a Wonderful Life, and various Hallmark programs. However, the true love of her life was her family which included her husband and son, Judy (daughter-in-law) and Jacob (grandson) as well as all of her in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was devoted to her family until her passing.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband; her infant daughters; her brother and sister; and her parents.
Marilyn was survived by her son and daughter-in-law; her grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in St. Joseph, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. under the direction of Rupp Funeral Home. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
