Columbia Trash

The City of Columbia will not pick up curbside recycling the week of June 29.

In a news release, the city said a "lack of sufficient staffing" will keep crews from picking up both trash and recycling. The Solid Waste Utility was only able to pick up about 40 percent of curbside recycling on Friday, the city said.

Anyone with curbside recycling should wait to set it on the curb until the week of July 6 or take it to one of the city's 11 drop-off locations. Those locations include:

  • Columbia College Dulany Hall (8th Street and Hickman Avenue)
  • Columbia College Wrightman Building (south end of Pannell Street)
  • The Armory (north parking lot at 7th Street and Park Avenue)
  • 10th Street and Cherry Street (south side of the Cherry Street Parking Structure)
  • Home Depot (3215 Clark Lane)
  • Moser's on Keene (900 North Keene Street)
  • Moser's Supermarket (705 West Business Loop 70)
  • 3601 South Providence Road (outer road north of Nifong)
  • State Farm Parkway (Nifong just east of Grindstone)
  • University of Missouri Bluford Hall (Kentucky Avenue)
  • University of Missouri Shurz Hall (Ashland Road east of College Avenue)

Trash and bulky items will still be picked up. The city added that although city offices will be closed Friday for Independence Day, trash will still be collected.
