A 17-year-old Stanberry, MIssouri, man was killed Wednesday afternoon in Gentry County in a crash that involved a dump truck and a tractor.
Kameron Wallace was pulling a hay mower with his John Deere tractor eastbound on State Route O near Gentry, Missouri, when a dump truck attempted to pass him. At the same time, Wallace attempted to avoid a ditch by moving into the center of the roadway, causing the dump truck to hit his tractor.
Wallace traveled off the roadway and into a ditch, landing on his driver’s side. The man was declared dead at the scene by the Gentry County coroner. It is unknown whether or not the young man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The other driver, Jacobi Zimmerman, received minor injuries after rolling off the roadway. He was transported to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville by a private vehicle.
Wallace was an athlete at Stanberry High School.
