Local authorities worked on Sunday morning on the Missouri River to recover a man’s body found along the river near south Atchison, Kansas.

Atchison, Kansas, police have identified the body recovered from the Missouri River on Sunday as that of a 53-year-old St. Joseph man.

Donald R. Spradling had been a resident of St. Joseph for the past two years, according to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson. Atchison police detectives have met with St. Joseph Police detectives regarding the investigation, which now has evolved to a joint investigation with the two agencies.
