The St. Joseph School District has hired two long-time Missouri educators to fill the open director of finance and director of student services positions.

Dr. Gabe Edgar will join the district’s administrative team as director of finance, replacing Wesley Metz, who announced his resignation in April.

Edgar is currently superintendent of the Marceline R-V School District in north-central Missouri, where he also has served as a middle and high school principal.

Dr. Robert Sigrist is returning to the St. Joseph School District as director of non-academic support and student services. Sigrist is currently principal at Savannah High School.

Sigrist was previously an assistant principal at Central High School in St. Joseph for 13 years. He also taught at Lafayette before becoming and administrator.

Sigrist will replace Dr. Solon Haynes, who is taking a new position within the St. Joseph School District as principal at Parkway Elementary School.

Both Edgar and Sigrist will begin their new roles on July 1.

The board of education approved both hires during closed session on Monday, according to a district release.
