An Agency, Missouri, man accused of claiming to be a contractor and taking money from homeowners around the area has pleaded guilty to a stealing charge in Buchanan County.
Ryan Southard entered the plea Thursday. He is scheduled for sentencing in the case before Judge Daniel Kellogg at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Buchanan County Courthouse.
According to Buchanan County court documents, Southard bid $1,400 on a landscaping job, accepting $700 up-front for materials and never fulfilled his end of the deal.
Southard also faces stealing charges in DeKalb and Andrew counties. Those cases remain open.
Southard has three previous convictions for theft, two for receiving stolen property and one for passing a bad check.
