A St. Joseph man is facing a charge of possession of child pornography after images were traced through his IP address.

According to court documents, Terence Hoyt, 42, confessed to downloading child pornography after he was questioned by St. Joseph police. The police were able to trace images that had been downloaded through an IP address and AT&T account information, according to the documents.

Hoyt is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond at the Buchanan County Jail. He is considered a danger to the community because he was employed in a state building where a children’s division is located and was staying two blocks away from Carden Park Elementary.
