The St. Joseph Police Department is investigating a double stabbing incident that sent both individuals to the hospital.
At 4:40 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the area of El Tivoli Drive on a report of people fighting. Police officers were given the description of vehicles that had fled the area. Police stopped one of the vehicles in the area of 22nd and Monterey Streets. One of the occupants had a stab wound. The 22-year-old white male was transported to Mosaic Life Care to be treated for serious injuries.
Later Thursday morning, another person with a stab wound was transported to Mosaic from another jurisdiction. Police identified the 29-year-old white male as the other person involved in the earlier incident.
Both individuals were treated and released from Mosaic. The 29-year-old was taken into custody, but charges haven’t been filed at this time.
