Hy-Vee is investigating a data incident that may have affected its point of service systems.
In a press release, the company stated they detected unauthorized activity on some of its payment processing systems. They've contacted law enforcement are working with cybersecurity firms.
"We believe the actions we have taken have stopped the unauthorized activity on our payment processing systems," the company stated in a press release. "Our investigation is focused on card transactions at our fuel pumps, drive-thru coffee shops, and restaurants (which include our Market Grilles, Market Grille Expresses and the Wahlburgers locations that Hy-Vee owns and operates)."
Based on Hy-Vee's preliminary investigation, the point of sales services at the front of stores, mainly used by grocery shoppers, were not affected.
As Hy-Vee continues its investigation, they encourage customers to keep an eye on all payment activity.
