A deflated tire caused a two-vehicle accident Thursday night that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Kenneth L. Utley, 35, of Blythdale, Missouri, suffered serious injuries in the accident at 8 p.m. on southbound U.S. Highway 35 in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Utley was driving northbound in a pickup truck when a deflated tire caused the truck to go into the median, strike another vehicle and overturn.

The driver of the other vehicle, Betsy A. Kimball of Bonner Springs, Kansas, was not injured.

An ambulance took Utley to Cameron Regional Hospital.
