Charges have not yet been filed against a suspect involved in a shooting late Monday night.

According to Buchanan County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Chad Gaddie, no charges were filed before a 24 hour “investigatory deadline” which expired at 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

The suspect in the case has not been named. According to St. Joseph Police Department Captain Jeff Wilson, the suspect was involved in “some sort of disturbance” in which a gun was produced. A 29-year-old man suffered a non-life-threatening injury during the incident, which occurred near the Brittany Village Apartments in St. Joseph.

Charges could be filed later, Gaddie said.
