A Binational Health Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at InterServ, 5400 King Hill Ave. The event will include basic health screenings, such as eye exams.

A Binational Health Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at InterServ, 5400 King Hill Ave.

Each year, agencies gather with community organizations and volunteers to help the area’s underserved population improve their health and well-being.

The event includes workshops, free vaccinations and basic screenings. Refreshments will be served, and activities for children will be available, along with prizes. There also will be a food drop for the Second Harvest Community Food Bank.

Partners include University of Missouri Extension, Missouri Western State University, YWCA, the Social Welfare Board, Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph, the City of St. Joseph Health Department, Legal Aid of Western Missouri, St. Joseph AEL, Parents as Teachers, the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, La Mesa Restaurant, Buchanan County EMS, the St. Joseph School District and Mosaic Life Care.
