Co-pastor Kari Chariez of North Church of God holds the book she chose to use in the women’s Bible study series.

The North Church of God is hosting a different Bible study series for women focusing on anxiety and and anxiousness in life.

Co-pastor Kari Chariez said she wanted to pick a topic for the series that everyone could relate to.

“It’s kind of something that touches everybody. I don’t know of one person that doesn’t have some kind of anxiety about something going on in the world, or in relationships or their finances or their job,” Chariez said.

The “Anxious for Nothing: Women’s Bible Study Series” focuses on the book “Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World” by Max Lucado.

“Just the title itself kind of jumped out at me, because I looked through several studies before I landed on this one,” Chariez said. “I love Max Lucado, and he has a knack for kind of hitting the nail on the head for people. You could read it over and over again and glean new things every time.”

The pastor said she wanted to bring people together in the community.

“I also wanted to kind of give a platform for women to come together and kind of relate to one another because we can deal with anxiety on our own,” Chariez said.

The series also will look at how to deal with anxiety through examining scripture.

“I really wanted that kind of community feel to be able to talk through things that we’re going through and then look at the scriptures and see what ... God has to say about anxiety and how to deal with it,” Chariez said.

The Bible study series is open to everyone and will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, May 8 through June 12, at North Church of God.
