Ashley Strueby was an easy choice for this month's cover girl. The St. Joseph woman is the creator of Joe Town Fun, a Facebook page dedicated to helping families in the area know what's going on. You can read more about her passion on Page 6.

Strueby works as an executive assistant at Northwest Health Services.

"I love my job and the people I work with," she says. "We all have a desire to serve the underserved population in Northwest Missouri."

She's been married to her husband, Kris Strueby, for 12 years in September. Strueby says she has a loving, happy marriage with a good balance.

"He brings out the best in me, and I would be lost without him," she says.

The couple have an almost 9-year-old daughter, Sayla, who they enjoy going on adventures with and watching grow.

"When I'm feeling inspired, I like to write poetry, and I love taking photos, especially of Sayla," Strueby says.

She enjoys kayaking and being outdoors when the weather is nice. Spending time with friends is always refreshing, she adds. But most of all, she loves exploring and making memories with her family of three.

Strueby says that what people may not know about her is that she finds tattoos liberating.

"I enjoy telling life stories through them," she says.
