Josephine will be hosting its 15th Josephine Expo Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Civic Arena.
Josephine Expo Coordinator Carole Dunn said that the theme this year will be “Sweet on Her” to celebrate the magazine’s 16th anniversary.
“We picked that theme because the magazine itself is actually turning 16 this September and we’re pretty excited about that. It’s our sweet 16 and that’s awesome,” Dunn said.
Dunn said the theme is also significant to the readers of Josephine magazine.
“As the magazine turns 16, we want to be able to convey that we are very sweet on our readers and we love them and we wouldn’t exist without them,” Dunn said.
The expo will include a number of vendors from local businesses, a food court and beverages, live music and a fashion show.
“Coming to the expo you’ll find some sweet deals and we have a food court so usually have a good variety of items for lunch for snacks,” Dunn said. “We also have beverages from coffee to alcoholic, and we have live music throughout the day. We usually have a fashion show or two.”
Dunn, who has been involved with Josephine from the start of the magazine, said her favorite thing about the expo is seeing everyone come into the Civic Arena for the event.
“I usually try to walk around and go upstairs and kind of watch people fill in the Civic Arena. It’s a wonderful feeling because you see people walking around and having a good day. I had one vendor [last year] tell me that the expo has always been her favorite event to do because everybody comes in happy,” Dunn said.
The expo is free for children 12 and under, and tickets are $5 at the door.
