Brooke Shupe and Seth Appleton are engaged to be married. Brooke is the daughter of Timothy and Barbara Shupe of Stanberry, Mo., and Seth is the son of Robert and Susan Appleton of St. Louis, Mo.

Shupe is a 2002 graduate of Stanberry High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in agribusiness management. After college, Brooke moved to Washington, D.C. for an internship and has been there ever since. Following six years of work on Capitol Hill, Brooke joined the National Association of Wheat Growers, where she currently serves as director of government affairs for risk management.

Appleton is a 2000 graduate of Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School and a 2004 graduate of Stanford University with a degree in history. While studying at Stanford, Seth interned at the U.S. Department of State and in the U.S. Senate, and, after graduating, Seth returned to Washington to work in the U.S. House of Representatives. Ten years later, Seth is still there, currently serving as chief of staff to Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer of Missouri.

The couple currently resides in Washington, D.C., and will be married this fall in Kansas City, Mo.
