Jefferson City storm damage

Adkins Stadium, the host site of the MSHSAA state track and field championships, was damaged by storms Wednesday night in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Following the storms that hit Jefferson City on Wednesday night, the Missouri State High School Activities Association has moved the Class 3, 4 and 5 state track and field championships to new locations.

Dennis Licklider Track Complex in Jefferson City will not be able to host the event due to damage from the storms.

The event will now take place only on Saturday with the three classes all competing at different locations. Both Class 3 and 5 will be in Columbia while Class 4 competes at Washington High School in Washington, Missouri.

The Class 3 championships will take place at Audrey J. Walton Track & Field facility on the campus of the University of Missouri. The Class 5 meet will be held at Battle High School.

Events will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday at all three locations.
