St. Joseph is the contradiction city. The City Council is exploring the idea of spending up to $90 million of city and private money to develop the riverfront. Then on newscast after newscast, we hear where people are not going back to their communities, farmers have lost everything due to the flooding and we have Heritage ballpark up there that is not usable. And this is, I believe, at least the second time that major repairs have had been done on it after flooding. Well, if I thought money was going to get washed down the river, personally, I wouldn’t leave any money by the river.
I am absolutely tired of seeing all these expired temporary license plates. Many of them six months, eight months, some of them even a year old. Do our police not look for these or do they not care?
I see where the state of Missouri wants to make the price of medical marijuana extremely high. They claim that then people won’t buy it and then try to resell it to make a profit. That way they can stop the black market. What a bunch of dummies. When they raise the price to where people can’t afford to buy it, they will just go to the black market.
Editor’s note: They didn’t say they wanted it extremely high. They said they wanted it roughly in line with the illegal market.
Doing their best
Yeah, I’d like to commend council members Madison Davis and Brian Myers. Those two people, they don’t put up with nothing. They listen to people and try to put forward the best part of our city. I mean, it’s just people doing their best and they are way better than any people that we have.
If the city is so proud of having the Chiefs, why don’t they paint the sign so we can read it from the road? It’s almost unreadable.
Lots of heart
Of all the politicians today, I would say President Donald Trump has more heart than any of them. There’s no doubt about that. If you’re watching CNN, you’re not going to get the proof. Trump does more for people than anybody realizes. People need to get a grip on themselves. He’s not politically correct. He’s not a politician. He is a businessman. He’s not going to be saying things you expect the president to say because he’s not going to do that. He is fixing this country, he is doing good for the people.
