It's your call, Feb. 23, 2012

Same name

Please keep the name Muchenberger Center in the new recreation place for the children. Because where it was before, it wasn’t in the best location. They could use it for something else, but name it Muchenberger Center on the boulevard here. Name it that and nothing else.

Gin or beer?

I would like to say kudos to Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey. It’s about time one of these governors stands up to these crazy, ridiculous same-sex marriage bills. It is just not right to have this kind of stuff going on in our country today. Same-sex marriage is a travesty. It was not meant to be, it is not right, it’s not normal. I want to give Governor Christie a high-five and a handshake and give him a drink of his choice for putting his foot down and saying no more. I hope other states take notice and do the same thing.

Go liberals

I think it’s nice that “It’s your call” lets the Democratic, Republican, liberal and conservative sides be heard or read, even though the conservatives are wrong.

Addicted

I’m a Virgo. My horoscope says it’s a four-star day. It says your imagination adds to any conversation, and you should get together and exchange. But sometimes you might be better off holding back just a little. OK. I will try not to call “It’s your call” any more today.

The president who said he was elected to do big things is reduced to pleading with people to send him stories on how the $80 a month payroll tax cut has affected their lives. Some people take that money and spend it on things like a big-screen TV. Others will put it in the bank for a rainy day. Interestingly, a large number of new parents had said they use this to buy diapers. Hmm, diapers and politicians. That seems really appropriate.

The way out

One of the problems in this country with people sitting on juries is they don’t know how to make decisions anymore. It’s like the case of that lacrosse player in Virginia, where the boy beat his girlfriend to death. He could get life in prison. That doesn’t mean he’ll be in there for life. It means that he can be out in five years. There’s no truth in sentencing anymore. There’s always an out. There’s always a loophole.
