CAMERON, Mo. - Marvin M. Searcy, 86, Cameron, formerly of Pattonsburg, Mo., died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 1, 1926, in Santa Rosa, Mo., the son of Carl and Opal (Eulinger) Searcy. He graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1945.
On November 16, 1948, he married Nita Noranne Hoover in Chillicothe, Mo. She survives at the home.
Marvin was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pattonsburg. On June 14, 1955, he became a member of the Pattonsburg Lodge A.F. & A.M. #65 until it merged with Winston Lodge A.F. & A. M. #15.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Jo Hulet, Cameron, Gail Boeff, West Des Moines, Iowa; two sons, David Searcy, Pattonsburg, Shane (Susan) Searcy, West Des Moines; brother-in-law, George (Linda) Hoover, Liberty, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Covel; two sisters, Vera N. Cameron and Wilma Maxine Searcy; father and mother-in-law, George and Gwendolyn Hoover.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial with Military Rites: Cope Cemetery, Weatherby, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 6 p.m. Friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
