LIBBY, Mont. - Sumiko Ferguson, 83, of Libby, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born March 10, 1930 in Torakuji, Kyoto-Fu, Japan to Kokichi and Koya (Yoshioka) Imanishi.

On September 6, 1952, Sumi married Nicholas Ferguson in Tokyo, Japan. In 1954, they moved to Oregon, Mo., where they spent 30 years raising their family. They then retired to Libby in 1984.

Sumi was active in the Libby Christian Church, where she volunteered in the mission store. She spent her life serving the Lord.

Sumi is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nick; son, Johnnie (JoAnn), Tonganoxie, Kan.; daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Collingwood, Greybull, Wyo., and Nancy (Mike) Mazur, St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild meeting her in Heaven; sister, Yoshiko Irigaki of Japan; brother-in-law, Jerry Ferguson, Gladstone, Mo.; many nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Christian Church, Oregon.

Family visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon.

Interment: Benton Cemetery.

Memorials: Libby Christian Church Philippines Mission.
