A truck caught fire and, according to witnesses, exploded at about 1 p.m. Friday near the corner of Vine and Olive Streets.

The Ford GMC 1500 was not running at the time of the fire, something that Fire Chief Mike Dalsing said would have made it unlikely for the truck to randomly combust. According to Dalsing, similar incidents have happened at the property in the past, and the owner believes he is being targeted.

Dalsing said investigators would be checking in to the matter.

The owner frequently purchases vehicles for scrap metal, according to the fire chief. The truck was attached to a tow truck, which appeared to have little to no damage from the explosion.

No one was injured in the incident.
