Police work the scene of a hit-and-run vehicle accident at the intersection of Frederick Avenue and N. Woodbine Road at around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

What was initially reported as a hit-and-run accident near Frederick Boulevard and Woodbine Road turned out to be a minor crash Friday.

The St. Joseph Police Department was called to the scene of an accident involving two cars at the intersection of Frederick Avenue and North Woodbine Road at around 10:30 a.m.

According to Sgt. Chris McBane with the St. Joseph Police Department, a gray Equinox was pulling out of a gas station when it struck a red Equinox that was on Frederick Boulevard.

Three people were transported to Mosaic Life Hospital with minor injuries, according to McBane.

The driver of the gray car will receive a summons, he said.

“The (gray) vehicle was pulling out of the drive for Speedy’s trying to make a left onto Frederick,” McBane said. “A car in the right-hand lane stopped and waived them out.”

“A car in the left lane hit them,” he added.
