JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has released an audit of Atchison County that carries an overall “good” rating.

Galloway said the county has been transparent and efficient in conducting its operations and procedures and had the taxpayers’ interests in mind.

The audit recommends that the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department issue receipt slips and use pre-numbered bond forms to improve accounting procedures and prevent potential oversights.
