A fire on 23rd Street completely burned a shed located behind the home. The fire department arrived shortly before 5 a.m. and contained the fire from spreading further.

A fire destroyed two cars and a garage behind a house Thursday morning at 1113 S. 23rd St.

The fire spread to the house, which was not attached to the garage, and burned some of the siding on the structure. The neighbor’s house on the other side had an electric meter that melted.

No one was hurt during the fire.

The fire department arrived at 4:54 a.m.

The man in the home was getting ready for work when he saw the back of the house on fire. He woke up his aunt and got out of the house.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation.
