Sitting in front, from left to right, are Frances Miller and Carrie Reid. Standing behind then are Mae Miller Gaines and Hazel Reid. This postcard was made from a Kodak photograph in 1910, and the ladies are wearing their Sunday summer dresses and best hats, which probably were produced by local hat makers. In 1910, there were three ladies’ hat wholesalers operating in St. Joseph, along with 20 independent shops.
