A railroad company is taking steps to eliminating hunger in Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas today.

Union Pacific Railroad will present a $10,000 check to Second Harvest Community Food Bank Executive Director Chad Higdon. The donation will contribute to Second Harvest’s nutritional program and provide roughly 7,000 meals during the holiday season.

The presentation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Second Harvest, located at 915 Douglas St.
