Businesses saw red Tuesday morning as supporters of the Kansas City Chiefs camp fanned out to promote three weeks of professional football’s presence in St. Joseph.

The St. Joseph Metro Chamber and St. Joseph Convention & Visitors Bureau combined to conduct a Red Carpet Blitz for the day. Officials said the effort seeks to offer information on the Chiefs and St. Joseph to retail and other businesses in high-traffic areas near the camp at Missouri Western State University. Managers and owners of restaurants, home decor specialists, and convenience stores were among the targets.
