An officer assigned to watch over inmates at the Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

Debora Allen, 50, told Buchanan County Circuit Judge Patrick Robb that a white supremacist group sent five inmates to approach her in her work area, making threats to her and her children.

She would not be the first officer who smuggled in contraband , she thought she would make a quick buck but it looks like she'll lose by losing her job and now having a felony record . Dumb woman , you should have reported it if you were afraid. The inmates at WRDCC are low risk and it's very doubtful you were threatened.I certainly never had problems with any inmates when I was a CO I.

You must not be able to read correctly, she reported the threats previously and the inmates were locked up in Ad-Seg and for some unknown reason, they were put right back into population after several months. The warden and the FUM's are just as much to blame here as she is.

I worked out there for several years, and I would seriously question your statement about them being "low risk." First of all, just the work environment alone is very violent by nature. Secondly, any inmate at any time is very capable of becoming violent. From your child support offender to your serial murder. I would bet you a five star meal any day that if we pulled the master roster of inmates at WRDCC, the average citizen would faint and the sight of how many are out there on the hill, that have committed murder or other violent crimes with life sentences.
Lets not forget that WRDCC is one of two male Diagnostic intake centers in the state, so you get anyone from a thief to a murder that comes through those doors.
