BELTON, Mo. — Lois Stribling, 74, Belton, formerly of Rock Port, Mo., passed away July 9, 2010, at a Belton care center.\r\nLois was born on May 13, 1936, in Rock Port and graduated from Rock Port High School.\r\nShe married Phillip Edward Stribling in 1955, and they lived in Kansas City. Following his death in 1991, Lois returned to Rock Port, where she owned and operated the White Rock Motel.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ray and Opal (Reader) King; and siblings, Ray “Ozzieâ€, Harold Dean and Donald King, Della Long, and Eva Mae Hunter.\r\nSurvivors include her daughters, JoAnn Messmer and her husband, James, and Philis Stribling, all of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; sons, Donnie of Rock Port, and Ray and his wife, Lisa, of Belton; 16 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.\r\nGraveside service and inurnment: 1 p.m. Thursday, Greenhill Cemetery in Rock Port. Chamberlain Funeral Home, Rock Port, is in charge of arrangements.\r\n
