Teen killed in one-vehicle accident

SKIDMORE, Mo. - A teenager died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday, about a mile south of Skidmore on Missouri Highway 113.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Clinton Wilmes, 18, died at the scene between 2:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Mr. Wilmes, from Maitland, Mo., was riding with his cousin Brett Wilmes, 19, of Ravenwood, Mo. Brett Wilmes reportedly lost control of a 2006 Pontiac GTO while traveling north on Highway 113. The Pontiac skidded off the west side of the road before striking several trees.
The driver was transported by private vehicle to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Mo., for treatment of injuries described as moderate.
